Description Our client, a growing mobile‑gaming studio is looking for a Lead VFX Artist Developer to join their team and help build a new Puzzle RPG – part of a larger, high‑ambition project based on a major IP. You’ll have a central role in shaping backend architecture, ensuring performance and reliability, and enabling the team to deliver a high‑quality mobile experience.
Responsibilities
Create and integrate visual effects of varying complexity for gameplay and characters
Define and maintain a consistent VFX style aligned with the overall visual direction
Contribute to the creation and improvement of internal VFX tools and workflows
Collaborate closely with artists, designers, and programmers to deliver polished in-game effects
Requirements
3+ years of professional experience in game development
At least 1 year of experience creating character visual effects
Strong understanding of composition and color in real-time VFX
Ability to tune timing, dynamics, and readability of effects
Experience working with Unity and its VFX workflows
Working knowledge of 3D tools (e.g. Blender or 3ds Max), shaders, and texturing
Understanding of mobile hardware limitations and performance constraints
Good time estimation and task planning skills
Portfolio demonstrating complex and visually appealing real-time effects
Nice to have
Personal library of shaders, components, or VFX references
Experience creating VFX specifically for mobile games
Frame-by-frame animation skills
