Our client, the studio behind shapez and shapez 2, is building their next ambitious factory / automation game and is looking for a Senior Unreal Rendering & Pipeline Engineer to own rendering performance, graphics pipelines, and large-scale world optimization in Unreal Engine 5. RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the rendering pipeline and performance budget for the open world, machines, VFX, and avatars
Define and maintain the art-to-engine pipeline (Blender → Unreal), partnering with technical artists on tooling and workflow
Co-design the sim/render boundary with the Principal Engineer
Be the rendering counterpart for technical artists — review materials, VFX, and asset workflows for performance
Profile and optimize GPU and rendering performance across large-scale scenes and gameplay systems
Help establish rendering standards and workflows across the project
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 5
5+ years focused on rendering / graphics programming
Extensive knowledge of GPUs, shaders, rendering architecture, and graphics optimization
Worked on at least 2 shipped Unreal Engine titles, including at least one in UE5
Experience with UE5 features: Nanite,HISM / ISM / HLODs, Niagara, World Partition, Virtual Shadow Maps, Master Materials / Material Instances, Per-instance custom data on HISM, Unreal Insights, RenderDoc
