We’re looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer on behalf of our client – a renowned AAA studio recognized for its narrative-rich, system-heavy RPGs. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in building the core gameplay experience of a new, high-profile title. You’ll work closely with designers, artists, and engineers to transform creative vision into technically robust and player-focused features.
As a senior team member, you’ll also support the lead with planning, mentoring, and communication across the development team.
Responsibilities
Work on all aspects of the game: engine, tools, UI, gameplay, and systems.
Translate creative and design ideas into technical solutions and feature plans.
Deliver features fully and on time, ensuring quality across all components.
Write robust, clean, and maintainable C++ code.
Be the first line of feedback for features you’re implementing.
Contribute actively to game design and feature planning.
Maintain regular, transparent communication with production and stakeholders.
Mentor less experienced programmers and support the technical lead.
Plan and execute complex features independently and in collaboration with the team.
Participate in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with global teams.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in game development using C++.
Expertise in C++ programming and system design.
Professional experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development) and ECS (Entity Component System).
Strong understanding of gameplay systems, especially for RPGs.
Familiarity with state machines, AI routines, pathfinding, and scripting.
Ability to think like a game designer to help craft fun and engaging mechanics.
Experience with gameplay scripting.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Upper-intermediate or fluent English.
Team player who takes ownership and communicates clearly.
At least one shipped console or PC game.
Passion for playing and making great video games.
Nice to Have
Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Experience with WPF or Lua.
Strong background in RPG development or deep personal interest in the genre.
