Our client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong technical expertise, a sharp analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams and disciplines. As the first engineer in the data team, you will play a key role in designing and building the company’s analytics and data infrastructure from the ground up. You will work on the core data platform that powers gameplay insights and LiveOps decisions, while also helping define architecture, technical standards, and the long-term foundation of the team.
Responsibilities
Design and build the analytics platform that supports gameplay insights, LiveOps, and telemetry
Develop and maintain high-quality batch and real-time data pipelines that transform raw gameplay data into clean, structured datasets for analytics, marketing, tech, and AI teams
Work closely with analysts and game teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions
Define data quality standards and implement automated monitoring, alerting, and validation systems
Promote engineering best practices across observability, testing, reliability, performance optimization, and cost awareness
Contribute to architectural decisions and help establish the technical direction of the data platform
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a proven track record of building scalable data platforms and pipelines
Strong expertise in event streaming technologies such as Kafka, or similar tools, and real-time data processing
Strong proficiency in Python; experience with Scala is a plus
Solid knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics best practices, including schema design, partitioning, and versioning
Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS
Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar
Ability to design systems from early MVP stage through to high-scale production environments
Confidence contributing to architecture discussions and making technical decisions
Fluent English

Experience in gaming, mobile products, or other high-event-volume environments
Knowledge of BI tools and analytics workflows
Familiarity with observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing
Experience with data quality frameworks
