Description

Join a pioneering Web3 gaming team as they scale their debut title from alpha to global release. In this role you will architect and operate high-performance backend and blockchain systems designed to serve millions of players. You will have significant ownership, drive technical direction, and contribute to rapid innovation at the intersection of games, infrastructure, and blockchain technology. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days per week on-site at either their Berlin or Hamburg office, depending on your location.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using modern programming languages and cloud infrastructure
• Build efficient, well-tested software that supports live, real-time gameplay and evolving product needs
• Integrate blockchain technologies where applicable,contributing to decentralized game features
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation, and containerized deployments
• Monitor performance, identify technical risks, and proactively optimize for stability and scalability
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and uphold strong engineering standards
• Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to continuous process improvement
• Track delivery milestones, communicate progress clearly, and mitigate delivery risks

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of software development experience with production-scale systems
• Strong backend engineering skills with TypeScript, Node.js, Go, Rust, or similar
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, or real-time applications
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and containerization (e.g., Docker)
• Familiarity with blockchain concepts and their technical implicationst
• Strong communication skills with proven success in collaborative environments
