Our client is looking for a Principal Engineer to help build and lead their new studio in Poland. This is a senior technical role overseeing one or more projects, guiding engineers, and helping shape the engineering team from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Work closely with project leadership and Technical Directors to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements to engine workflows.
Act as a primary point of contact for the wider development team on all engine-related topics.
Exact responsibilities vary based on the project.
Design, implement, and optimize engine-level systems, with responsibilities varying depending on the project’s needs.
Ensure adherence with platform-specific requirements and certifications.
Support and guide other engineers on engine-related challenges; provide technical input and best practices.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in game development or engine programming.
Strong generalist or rendering engineering background.
At least one shipped AAA title in a similar role.
Deep, practical knowledge of C/C++.
Proven experience shipping games on multiple platforms.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
Co-development experience with external partners.
Experience with both Unreal Engine and a proprietary/in-house engine.
Experience leading or mentoring other engineers.
