Are you the kind of communications leader who can build a company narrative from the ground up and turn founders into credible, visible public voices?
Our client is looking for a Head of Communications to become the first person in this function and define how the company shows up internally and externally. This is a highly strategic role with a very hands-on start: you would work directly with senior leadership to shape the group’s communication strategy, strengthen employer branding, build founder positioning, and establish the foundation for a future PR and communications team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and own the overall communication strategy for the company at the group level, before later expanding that approach across its entities.
Act as a close sparring partner to the founders and C-level leaders on communication, messaging, visibility, and reputation.
Coach senior leadership on public communication, including personal positioning, tone of voice, interviews, speeches, keynote scripts, and LinkedIn presence.
Own external communications and press relations, building meaningful access to top-tier media and placing stories that strengthen the company’s profile.
Ensure strong alignment between internal and external communication, protecting and projecting the company’s reputation during growth.
Start as an individual contributor and, over time, help define and build the future communications and PR function.
REQUIREMENTS
Significant experience in communications, PR, corporate communications, or employer branding, ideally in a startup or scale-up tech environment.
Proven success in high-level corporate communications and especially in building or elevating a founder brand.
Strong experience coaching C-level or managing directors on communication strategy, public speaking, media presence, writing, and executive positioning.
Excellent written and spoken German and English, with German at C1 level or native.
Strong media instincts and an existing network, ideally extending beyond one narrow industry.
A proactive, direct, hands-on mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and operate with high ownership.

Hybrid work setup with 3 core office days and flexible working hours.
30 vacation days plus 3 weeks of remote work per year.
