Description

We’re recruiting a Gameplay Programmer on behalf of our client – an award-winning AAA studio renowned for crafting high-quality, narrative-driven RPGs. As they expand into new projects following their globally acclaimed success, they’re looking for a skilled programmer to help build complex gameplay systems, tools, and features that will define their next-generation titles.

In this role, you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams across several global studio locations to deliver polished, fun, and technically robust gameplay experiences.

 Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a wide range of game systems including engine features, gameplay mechanics, UI, audio, animation, scripting, and internal tools.
  • Collaborate with various departments and content creators to design and implement gameplay features.
  • Contribute to game design discussions from a technical perspective.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable C++ code using TDD principles.
  • Help scope features and advise on optimal implementation strategies.
  • Serve as a key feedback provider for gameplay functionality and quality.
  • Work closely with international teams across multiple studio locations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in C++ programming.
  • Solid grasp of RPG systems and gameplay mechanics.
  • Familiarity with concepts like state machines, pathfinding, and AI routines.
  • Ability to approach problems from both technical and design perspectives.
  • Strong software architecture, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable communicating in English in an international team setting.
  • Proactive, open-minded, and comfortable iterating on features.
  • Passion for making and playing games.
  • Prior experience in a professional game development environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site in a collaborative studio environment.

 Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Experience with machine learning or AI algorithms.
  • Familiarity with ECS (Entity Component System) architecture.
  • Background in or strong interest in RPGs.
  • Experience shipping a commercial game or console title.
