Our client is looking for a Game Designer to take ownership of the complete game design process, from initial concepts and prototyping through launch and LiveOps. This is a hands-on role within a small, fast-moving team. The successful candidate will design gameplay mechanics, progression, economies, and content while using player data and playtesting to guide improvements. The role combines work on new game concepts with the continued development of existing live titles. It is ideal for someone who enjoys turning early ideas into polished mobile experiences and taking responsibility for their long-term performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own features from initial research and concept through prototyping, implementation, balancing, launch, and post-launch improvements
Develop and iterate on gameplay mechanics, levels, progression systems, and content
Design and balance F2P economies and game systems using player data and playtesting
Improve pacing, difficulty, onboarding, retention, engagement, and long-term player motivation
Analyze player behavior and translate insights into practical design improvements
Contribute to new game concepts and prototypes
Support LiveOps and develop new features for existing games
Create wireframes or early UI mockups to communicate design ideas
Collaborate closely with engineering, art, and product
Prototype, test, and iterate quickly based on results
REQUIREMENTS
At least 3 years of experience designing F2P mobile games
Experience shipping at least one commercially successful mobile title from concept through launch
Strong understanding of casual, hybrid-casual, or mid-core game design
Hands-on experience creating game content and balancing systems using tools such as Excel
Strong knowledge of player psychology, UX, progression systems, and F2P economies
Ability to make design decisions based on player data, testing, and measurable outcomes
Self-driven approach and confidence taking ownership in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor as part of the design workflow
Genuine interest in mobile and F2P games
Willingness to work full-time from the company’s Berlin office
NICE TO HAVE
Experience running LiveOps and improving games after launch
Ability to analyze game data independently without relying on a dedicated analyst
Experience working in a startup or a small team of approximately 5 to 10 people
Ability to create wireframes or early UI mockups

ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is a growing mobile games studio with six titles available on Google Play and several new prototypes in development.
The company operates multiple live games while continuing to expand its portfolio. The current team consists of approximately 10 people across development, product, game design, art, QA, marketing, and creative production. The team works in weekly sprints, with ideas moving quickly from discussion to implementation.
