We’re looking for a talented Data Science Lead to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead a team of data scientists, balance business goals with technical implementation, and develop models that optimize experiences for advertisers, monetizers, and end users.
This is an on-site position in Hamburg, Germany. The company can help with visa & provide relocation support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, maintain, and develop new and existing data science models (classifications, recommendations, etc.), while being hands-on with data science tasks at least 50% of your time.
Grow and manage a data science team: hire new team members, organize team routines, and set up guidelines for code style, documentation, and best practices.
Mentor and train data scientists to improve their skills in analysis, programming, communication, and planning.
Work closely with Supply & Demand Tech and Product teams to provide data science models that balance advertiser, monetizer, and end user goals.
Contribute to strategic planning by working on long-term roadmaps and quarterly OKRs, and lead projects that drive substantial company growth.
REQUIREMENTS
Tech degree (mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar) or 5+ years of professional experience in data science.
Minimum 2+ years of experience leading and/or mentoring people (hiring, conducting regular 1-1s, creating career plans).
Strong knowledge of Python, R, Scala, Julia or similar programming languages for Data Science.
Experience developing deep learning models applied in production environments with large traffic volumes (>1 million predictions per day).
Excellent communication skills, able to tailor messages to different audiences including data scientists, developers, leads, and business teams.
NICE TO HAVE:
Technical infrastructure knowledge: Airflow, model hosting, deployment practices, etc.
Experience in the AdTech industry.
