Our client is looking for a highly skilled Videogame Engineer specializing in console development to join their growing team. In this position, you’ll build high-performance game systems, optimize for console hardware, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class player experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and maintain gameplay systems, engine features, and tools for PlayStation and Xbox.
Optimize performance, memory usage, loading times, and frame rate stability specifically for console hardware.
Integrate platform-specific SDKs, APIs, and services, including networking.
Debug and resolve console-specific issues, including certification blockers, performance regressions, and platform compatibility.
Work closely with engineers, designers, artists, and QA to ensure features run smoothly on target hardware.
Collaborate with technical leadership on architecture decisions, best practices, and long-term project planning.
Support console certification and submission processes.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of professional game development experience with at least one shipped console title.
Proficiency in C++ with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, memory management, and real-time optimization.
Experience working with console SDKs (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S preferred).
Strong debugging skills with platform-specific tools.
Experience with Unreal Engine.
Comfortable working in an iterative, fast-paced environment.
