A mid-sized, veteran-led game development studio is looking for a Animation Engineer to help build the next phase of their flagship tactical shooter and support the technology powering future projects. You will play a pivotal role in bringing life and movement to the characters filling our procedurally generated environments.
You’ll join an experienced team known for highly ambitious, emotionally impactful shooters grounded in real-world scenarios.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the animation team to design, develop, and implement robust animation systems in Unreal Engine, including character, vehicle, object, and procedural animation.
Build animation solutions that deliver smooth, responsive results while balancing performance, memory usage, scalability, and cross-platform requirements.
Partner with other engineering teams to integrate physics-based animation systems and simulations, such as cloth, hair, and physics-driven interactions, to enhance realism and immersion.
Create, maintain, and improve animation systems using tools such as Animation Blueprints, Montages, Blend Spaces, and related Unreal features.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve animation-related issues, bugs, and technical challenges through testing and iteration.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in the video game industry.
Strong Unreal Engine expertise and solid C++ programming skills.
Deep understanding of animation principles and real-time animation workflows.
Hands-on experience with animation systems, including state machines and animation graphs.
Familiarity with physics-based animation techniques and simulations.
Proven ability to optimize animation systems for performance.
Experience with Unreal animation systems and Gameplay Ability System is a strong advantage.
