VFX Artist (2D Specialism)

Inferno Studios is seeking a talented VFX Artist to join its team in a new 12-month contract role. This position is fully remote and applicants must be based in the UK or Europe to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and collaborate on high quality, optimized VFX assets across a range of projects with different technical requirements.
  • With a focus on solutions, problem solve technical and artistic challenges relating to VFX production and integration.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with project stakeholders where required.
  • Provide task estimates for your assigned tasks and log your time against them.
  • Help maintain and update VFX documentation and workflows.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Clear and professional communication skills paired with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • A willingness to learn new tools/ processes and an open-minded approach to development and VFX creation workflows.
  • Impressive portfolio demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of real-time VFX production.
  • Good understanding of art fundamentals, including colour theory, lighting, and composition.
  • Proficient using Houdini to create VFX work.
  • Strong 2D skills including 2D hand painted flipbook creation in Animate (or similar).
  • Comfortable creating both realistic and stylized VFX work.

Desirable Skills:

  • Comfortable using Blender to create 3D content, or willing to adopt Blender within this role (training time will be provided).
  • A good working knowledge and experience using Unreal Engine is a plus.
