Marketing Manager/Coordinator

Midwest Games is looking for a motivated marketer with a passion for video games. This role will span a range of marketing tactics to best support our clients and grow our business. From managing game promotions to tracking impact, and from posting on LinkedIn to drafting website content, this position will be a generalist rather than a specialist. We don’t expect you to know how to do it all – the Manager/Coordinator will receive training and, at times, need to research best practices or new tools on their own. The right candidate has some marketing experience and knowledge of the video game market. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Manager/Coordinator will collaborate with clients and agencies, with an expectation of professional demeanor and individual accountability. Great communication skills and project management will be key to this hire’s success. We ask everyone on our team to amplify our core values of respect and community-mindedness.

Job Location:

Must reside in Wisconsin. We cannot consider out of state at this time.

Salary Range:

$40k-$55k annually

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Establish a strong marketing presence and reputation for Midwest Games
  • Research games to determine best comp titles, market positioning, and player targeting
  • Support creation of best-in-class marketing plans across multiple channels/tactics
  • Balance utilizing in-house capabilities with managing agencies or partners
  • Analyze data and ROI from consumer channels and sales platforms to report on our impact, adjust planning, and inform practices going forward
  • Select and manage tools/vendors to support our marketing efforts
  • Work directly with external partners on advertising, events, and partnerships, and more
  • Continuously consider and plan for the full lifecycle of a game including announcement, launch, updates, merchandise, and beyond

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-4 years of marketing experience, volunteer or online community work included
  • Understanding of various organic and paid marketing channels and measurement
  • Ability to translate marketing strategy into campaigns and asset direction
  • Excels in communication – across tone of voice, copywriting, and visual expression
  • A motivated and organized work style
  • You’ll be expected to meet deadlines and goals, with support/resources as needed.
  • Team player – we are a small team and support each other every day.
  • Positive attitude and resourcefulness, open to the challenges and opportunities of a startup.

We are flexible on title and experience requirements of this role, open to the right candidate at either the Coordinator or Manager level. Compensation is based on location as well as a candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and further considerations for this role. Note, this position must reside in Wisconsin, although we work remotely from the state.
